Levels
At Dolphin Swim Club, students are enrolled into classes consistent with their skills, abilities, experience, and age. Starting at age 2, our nine-level skill set allows each student to learn the following skills.
LEVEL A - Starfish 
For very beginning swimmers, who may experience separation anxiety and are not fans of having water on their face. Students learn:
- Entering and exiting the water safely
- Introduction to kicks
- Bubble blowing
- Coached safety jumps
- General pool rules and safety
- Breath control
- Back float with assistance
- Water comfort
LEVEL B - Seahorse 
For little swimmers who are comfortable in the water, do not mind water on their face, and are ready to learn the basic skills of swimming. Students learn:
- Self-submersion
- Straight body position
- Forward glide with assistance
- Forward glides without assistance
- Flutter kicks
- Back float
- Assisted rollovers with assistance
- Coached and uncoached safety jumps
- General pool rules and safety
- Confidence
LEVEL C- Jellyfish 
For swimmers who are comfortable in the water, have learned the basic skills of swimming, and can glide out to the instructor on their own. Students learn:
- Forward glide
- Forward glide with kicks
- Front crawl arms
- Back float unassisted
- Rollover unassisted
- Kicks on back unassisted
- Introduction to backstroke arms
- Coached and uncoached safety jumps
LEVEL 2 - Whale 
For swimmers who are swimming completely on their own and ready to learn strokes such as the backstroke, freestyle, and breaststroke. Students learn:
- Front crawl
- Front crawl with side breathing
- Backstroke
- Whip kicks
- Breaststroke pulls
- Introduction to pop-up breathing
- Endurance
- Coached and uncoached safety jumps
LEVEL 3 - Dolphin 
For swimmers who are familiar with the three basic strokes, can swim a half length of the pool, and need to learn stroke refinement and breathing skills. Students learn:
- Freestyle with side breathing
- Backstroke
- Coordinate breaststroke with pop-up breathing
- Endurance
- Introduction to treading water
LEVEL 4 - Blowfish 
For swimmers who are familiar with the three basic strokes, can swim 25 yards, and need to learn flip turns and the butterfly stroke. Students learn:
- Endurance
- Dolphin kicks
- Butterfly arms
- Introduction to flip and open turns
- Introduction to the Individual Medley
- Average length of drills is 50 yards
- Increased endurance of treading water
- Stroke mechanics
LEVEL 5 - Stingray 
For swimmers who are familiar with the backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly stroke, can swim 50 yards, and need to improve stroke mechanics and endurance. Students learn:
- Freestyle with alternate breathing
- Backstroke with flip turns
- Coordinate butterfly
- Master flip and open turns
- 100 yard Individual Medley
- Average length of drills is 100 yards
- Stroke Mechanics
LEVEL 6 - Turtle 
For swimmers who are familiar with backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly stroke, can swim 100 yards, and need to improve stroke mechanics and endurance. Students learn:
- Treading water
- 200 yard Individual Medley
- Refine stroke mechanics
- Average length of drills is 200 yards
LEVEL 7 - Shark 
For swimmers who are familiar with the backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly stroke, can swim 200 yards, and need to improve stroke mechanics and endurance. Similar to a swim team practice. Students learn:
- Perfection of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly strokes
- Racing Starts
- Endurance up to 500 yards
- Increasing speed
